The Miller FILTAIR® Capture 5 Mobile Fume Extraction System (460V) is an industrial-grade solution engineered to address the rigorous demands of heavy manufacturing and fabrication environments. At the heart of this system is Miller's proprietary ZoneFlow™ technology, which revolutionizes source capture by creating a large negative pressure zone. This innovation allows the extraction arm to effectively funnel air and particulates from distances up to five feet away—approximately three times the reach of traditional systems. This extended capture zone significantly enhances operational efficiency by reducing the frequency of arm interactions required by the operator, thereby maximizing arc-on time.

Filtration performance is driven by the FilTek® XL Filter Technology, which boasts a MERV 15 rating. Unlike standard treated cellulose filters that rely on depth loading, FilTek XL filters utilize a surface-loading design that captures up to 95% of weld fume particulates, including sub-micron sizes. This design not only improves filtration efficiency but also facilitates more effective cleaning. The Capture 5 is equipped with an automatic filter cleaning mechanism that initiates a pulse cleaning cycle every time the unit is powered down. This process uses compressed air to dislodge accumulated particulate from the filter media, depositing it into a dedicated disposal bin for safe removal. This feature ensures consistent airflow (CFM) and prolongs the lifespan of the filter cartridge.

Built for durability, the system is housed in a rugged metal cabinet capable of withstanding harsh shop conditions. It operates on a 460V input and requires a compressed air connection for the cleaning cycle. The unit is designed for mobility, featuring large rear wheels and lockable front swivel casters, allowing for easy positioning and stability during operation. A front-mounted filter pressure gauge provides immediate visual diagnostics regarding filter saturation, ensuring timely maintenance. The system is compatible with Flux Cored (FCAW), MIG (GMAW), Stick (SMAW), and TIG (GTAW) welding processes.
