The Miller FILTAIR® SWX Dual-Arm Add-On Package (951822) is engineered to upgrade existing single-arm SWX stationary systems into a versatile dual-arm configuration. This solution is ideal for facilities looking to maximize floor space while doubling their fume capture capacity for welding workstations or training booths. By integrating a second 12-foot ZoneFlow™ extraction arm and a dedicated high-performance FEB-1 blower, this package ensures consistent, powerful airflow for two operators simultaneously without the need for a completely separate base unit.

Advanced ZoneFlow™ Technology

At the core of this system is Miller's proprietary ZoneFlow™ technology. Unlike traditional extraction arms that rely solely on suction, ZoneFlow™ creates a distinct negative pressure zone. It moves clean, filtered air out of the arm at a 90-degree angle, forming a virtual curtain that funnels weld fume particulates toward the center of the arm. This mechanism extends the effective capture distance up to five feet from the hood, a significant improvement over the standard 18-inch range of conventional arms. This extended range maintains a cleaner breathing zone even when the arc is not directly under the hood, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

Industrial-Grade Performance and Control

The included FEB-1 blower motor operates on 115V single-phase power and generates 1,200 CFM of airflow. At the hood, the system delivers an Accu-Rated™ minimum of 875 CFM, ensuring robust capture of fumes from Stick, MIG, TIG, and Flux-cored processes. The arm features external adjustments, allowing air to pass through with minimal resistance (pressure drop), which optimizes suction power. Operators can easily manage the capture zone using the Dual Fan Capture Zone Control, switching between a full 360-degree intake or a focused 180-degree intake for positioning near walls or curtains. The package comes complete with the blower, control boxes, mounting bracket, flexible ducting, and backdraft dampers, providing all necessary mechanical components for the upgrade.
