OVERVIEW

Reliable Light-Industrial MIG Welding Solution

The Miller Millermatic 212 Auto-Set (SKU: 907405001) represents a robust standard in the light-industrial welding category. Designed for fabricators, maintenance professionals, and automotive restorers, this machine bridges the gap between hobbyist units and heavy-industrial systems. At its core is a heavy-duty transformer power source known for its smooth, stable arc and exceptional longevity. The unit operates on single-phase 208/230V power, making it accessible for most shop environments.

Auto-Set™ Technology

One of the defining features of this model is the Auto-Set system. This innovation simplifies the setup process significantly. Instead of referencing complex charts, the operator simply selects the wire diameter (0.030" or 0.035") and dials in the material thickness. The machine automatically configures the optimal voltage and wire feed speed. For operators who prefer traditional control or are welding materials like stainless steel or aluminum, the Auto-Set feature can be bypassed to use the infinite voltage control and wire feed speed knobs manually.

Built for the Shop

The Millermatic 212 is engineered for convenience and durability. It features the Fan-On-Demand™ cooling system, which reduces noise and airborne contaminants by running the fan only when the thermal sensors indicate it is necessary. The wire drive system utilizes a robust, industrial-quality aluminum dual-gear drive that ensures consistent feeding and accommodates 15-foot MIG guns without struggling. Additionally, the EZ-Change™ Low Cylinder Rack eliminates the need to lift heavy gas cylinders, enhancing shop safety and ergonomics.

Aluminum Capability

While primarily a steel powerhouse, the 212 is Spoolmate™ 200 Series ready. This allows for direct connection of a spool gun for feeding soft aluminum wire, bypassing the internal drive rolls to prevent bird-nesting. The machine detects when the spool gun is connected, streamlining the transition between steel and aluminum projects.

FAQ

The Millermatic 212 Auto-Set requires single-phase 208V or 230V input power. It is not compatible with 110/115V household outlets.

Yes, but it requires the optional Spoolmate 200 Series spool gun (sold separately). The machine is 'Spool Gun Ready' and automatically detects the gun when plugged in.

The Millermatic 212 is rated to weld up to 3/8 inch (9.5 mm) mild steel in a single pass.

It has a rated duty cycle of 60% at 160 Amps and 24.5 Volts DC. This means you can weld for 6 minutes out of a 10-minute period at this setting.

The standard Auto-Set feature on the 212 is calibrated for solid wire with C25 gas (75% Argon/25% CO2). For flux-cored wire, you should use the manual mode and refer to the parameter chart inside the door.

The package includes the Miller M-25 MIG gun, which is a 250-amp rated gun with a 15-foot cable.

Yes, the machine can run 0.045" wire, but you may need to change the drive rolls and gun liner to accommodate the larger diameter wire.
