The Thermal Dynamics Cutmaster 82 is a high-performance manual air plasma cutting system designed to bridge the gap between portability and industrial power. Part of the TRUE Series, this machine is engineered with the philosophy that the recommended cut capacity should be the true, continuous capacity of the unit. With a recommended cut of 3/4 inch (20 mm) and a maximum severance capacity of 1-1/2 inches (40 mm), the Cutmaster 82 delivers 80 Amps of output power while maintaining a compact form factor. The unit operates on a versatile multi-voltage input range of 208V to 480V, compatible with both single-phase and three-phase power supplies, making it adaptable to various industrial environments.

At the core of the system is the 9 kW rated power supply, which utilizes a solid-state inverter design to achieve a duty cycle of 40% at maximum output (80A) and 100% at 55A. The system includes the industry-standard SL60 1Torch, which features the patented ATC (Advanced Torch Connector). This quick-disconnect system allows operators to switch between hand torches and machine torches in seconds, or add lead extensions without tools. The torch is designed with a 75-degree head for ergonomic manual cutting and utilizes a pilot arc start mechanism that reduces high-frequency interference.

Operational efficiency is enhanced by the Auto Pilot Restart feature, which automatically re-initiates the pilot arc when cutting across gaps in expanded metal or grating, eliminating the need for manual re-triggering. The front panel interface is streamlined with color-coded LEDs that indicate pressure status, temperature faults, and general system readiness. Housed within the True Guard roll bar, the power supply is protected against impact and rough handling typical of construction sites and heavy fabrication floors. The unit requires a compressed air supply of 70 psi (4.8 bar) at a flow rate of 6.7 cfm (190 lpm).
