The Lucas-Milhaupt 13K16 Silver Brazing Rings are engineered for professionals demanding consistency and reliability in their joining processes. These preformed rings are manufactured from the industry-standard BAg-1 alloy (commonly known as Easy-Flo 45), which contains 45% silver, 15% copper, 16% zinc, and 24% cadmium. This specific composition provides the lowest melting point (1125°F solidus, 1145°F liquidus) among free-flowing cadmium-bearing alloys, making it exceptionally easy to use for tight-tolerance applications.

Designed with a precise 0.344-inch inner diameter and a 0.030-inch wire thickness, these rings are intended to fit snugly around tubing or fittings before heating. As the assembly reaches the brazing temperature, the ring melts and flows via capillary action into the joint gap. This pre-placement method eliminates the variability of manual wire feeding, ensuring that every joint receives the exact volume of filler metal required for a strong, leak-proof seal. It is particularly advantageous in high-volume production environments or repetitive HVAC/R installations where uniformity is critical.

The BAg-1 alloy exhibits excellent fluidity and is capable of joining a wide variety of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including steel, stainless steel, copper, and brass. Because of its narrow melting range, the alloy flows quickly and solidifies rapidly, reducing the time the base metal is exposed to high heat. Note: This product contains cadmium.
