The Silvaloy 450 Silver Brazing Coil is a premium, general-purpose alloy engineered for high-strength joining of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Formulated with 45% silver, 30% copper, and 25% zinc, this alloy meets the AWS A5.8 BAg-5 classification. It is a preferred choice in industrial manufacturing due to its excellent fluidity and capillary action, which allows it to penetrate tight joint clearances deeply and effectively. Crucially, Silvaloy 450 is cadmium-free, eliminating the health hazards associated with cadmium fumes while maintaining mechanical properties comparable to traditional cadmium-bearing alloys.

This alloy exhibits a melting range of 1225°F (solidus) to 1370°F (liquidus). The relatively narrow plastic range makes it easy to control during the brazing process, yet it retains enough versatility to bridge minor gaps if necessary. It is particularly effective for joining dissimilar metals, such as stainless steel to copper or brass to steel, providing joints that are both ductile and corrosion-resistant.
