One of the defining characteristics of the Tube-Alloy 954-S is its deposit hardness, typically ranging between 29 and 35 HRC. This hardness range ensures the material is robust enough to withstand significant load and wear while remaining fully machinable with standard carbide tools. This feature is critical for maintenance and repair operations where parts must be returned to precise dimensional tolerances after welding.
