The Techniweld Silicon Bronze (ERCuSi-A) MIG welding wire is a copper-based alloy containing approximately 3% silicon and small amounts of manganese, tin, and zinc. This composition is specifically engineered for the Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) process, commonly referred to as MIG welding. The primary metallurgical advantage of this alloy is its ability to provide high strength and excellent corrosion resistance while maintaining a relatively low melting point compared to ferrous filler metals. This wire is manufactured to meet AWS A5.7 specifications, ensuring consistent chemical composition and mechanical properties for critical industrial applications.

Silicon Bronze is frequently utilized for joining copper, brass, and bronze base metals. However, its utility extends significantly into the fabrication of ferrous metals, particularly in the surfacing of steel and the joining of galvanized steel sheets. The silicon content promotes deoxidation, which helps in producing sound, porosity-free welds.
