The Hobart 447A is a premium quality E6013 mild steel stick electrode designed for versatility and ease of use in general fabrication and maintenance applications. This 1/8-inch diameter electrode is packaged in a convenient 10lb pack, making it suitable for both light industrial tasks and extensive repair jobs. Engineered with a rutile-based coating, the 447A delivers a soft, steady arc that is easy to strike and maintain, even on welding machines with low open-circuit voltage.

One of the defining technical characteristics of the Hobart 447A is its fast-freeze weld puddle. This feature allows the operator to bridge gaps effectively, making it an excellent choice for applications involving poor fit-up or irregular joints. The electrode is classified as all-position, capable of welding in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions. It performs exceptionally well in vertical-down welding, providing a flat bead profile with minimal convexity.
