The Can-Arc ER70S-3 MIG Wire is a premium solid mild steel wire supplied in a substantial 904 lb drum, specifically engineered for high-volume manufacturing and robotic welding applications. This wire conforms to AWS A5.18 ER70S-3 standards, offering a chemical composition balanced for welding clean, non-rusty base metals. With a diameter of 1/16 inch (approximately 1.6mm), this wire is capable of delivering high deposition rates, making it suitable for welding thicker sections of structural steel, heavy equipment components, and automotive frames.

The "S-3" classification indicates a lower silicon and manganese content compared to the more common ER70S-6. This formulation is advantageous when welding on clean steel surfaces where the extra deoxidizers of S-6 are unnecessary. The result is a weld bead with fewer silicon islands (glassy deposits), which significantly reduces post-weld cleaning time and improves the surface for subsequent painting or plating operations.
