This OEM quality ER70S-6 MIG welding wire is designed for general purpose welding of mild and carbon steels. With a diameter of 0.035 inches, it is a versatile choice for medium-to-heavy gauge applications. The wire is formulated with higher levels of manganese and silicon deoxidizers compared to ER70S-3, making it the preferred choice when welding on base metals that may have light rust, mill scale, or oil present. These deoxidizers help to float impurities to the surface, resulting in a cleaner, sounder weld deposit.

The wire features a precision copper coating which serves two critical functions: it enhances electrical conductivity for a stable arc and protects the wire from corrosion during storage. Additionally, the smooth finish ensures consistent feeding through MIG gun liners and contact tips, reducing downtime caused by bird-nesting or burn-backs. This 2lb spool is specifically sized for use with spool guns or smaller, portable MIG welding machines often used in maintenance and light fabrication.

Suitable for use with 100% CO2 shielding gas for deep penetration or Argon/CO2 mixtures (such as C25) for reduced spatter and a better bead profile. It performs exceptionally well in all welding positions and is compatible with Short Circuit, Globular, Spray, and Pulsed Spray transfer modes.
